We're Paul Tembunde and Joan Ekobena. For 24+ years, we've built and operated our own home care agencies, and we still do. Now we help owners like you get more clients, more referrals, and grow your agency into a stronger, more profitable business.

If you own a home care agency, you've already done something most people only talk about. You took the risk and opened your doors to families in your community.
Maybe you left nursing after years of long shifts and short staffing. Maybe you hit a ceiling in your corporate career. Maybe you spent years in someone else's agency and knew you could do it better. You know care, but nobody handed you a manual for the business side.
We've walked that road. We've waited for the phone to ring, fumbled through hiring, and wondered if the stress was worth it. We know what it feels like to want financial freedom and still feel stuck in survival mode.
Your care experience is a real strength, and the business side can be learned. Our mission is to help you build the agency you pictured when you started, one you'll be proud to pass on.
Maybe you've already put in the work. You joined the association. You posted on social media for months. You paid for marketing that looked good but didn't bring in clients. You dropped off brochures with discharge planners and never heard back.
That doesn't mean you're the problem. Most of that advice was built for someone else's starting point: an owner who already had the referral network, the name recognition, or the team.
We teach what has worked in our own agencies, in the order it needs to happen, starting with where your agency is today.

We had three kids under seven and no savings set aside. After researching our options, we chose home care and took a cash advance on our only credit card to open our first agency.
Then we waited four months for our first client. When the call finally came, we met with the family that same evening.
In the early years, we did much of the care ourselves, even on holidays. We learned the business side the expensive way, through underpricing, bad hires, and payroll pressure. Those lessons shaped the systems that helped us build four profitable agencies. Along the way, we've served more than 8,000 clients and hired more than 7,500 caregivers. Today we still operate four offices in Maryland and Washington, D.C. What we teach isn't theory. It's what we use in our own agencies every week.
These five convictions guide everything we teach, build, and stand for when partnering alongside agency owners.

If everything in your agency depends on you, you haven't built a business yet. You've built another job. Real growth starts when the work no longer runs through you alone.

Every promise you keep builds your reputation, and your reputation is what brings in the next client and the next referral.

Pricing from fear keeps good agencies stuck. When your rates reflect the true cost of care, you have room to pay your caregivers, pay yourself, and keep growing.

You don't have to choose between caring deeply for people and building financial freedom for your family. An agency that serves families well and is priced to be profitable can do both.

It happens in community, with mentors who have already walked the road ahead of you. We stay close to the owners we work with, so you never have to figure out the next step alone.
